Independence Weekend 2013

The 4th of July is definitely one of my favorite holidays. We loaded up the kids and took the trip up to Idaho Falls to visit Jorden's family. All of Jorden's siblings were able to make it up too, which was great! The first night we were there we went to one of our favorites, Rumbi's.
Grandpa with his two granddaughters, Lindley and Myla, who are exactly 5 months apart.
A lot of these pictures were taken with my phone and some are pretty poor quality!

On the way home from Rumbi's, Jorden and I took a little detour and drove by our old house. Someone rudely parked their RV in "our" front lawn. For rude!
We sure miss our house!

The night of July 3rd, we shot off a few fireworks in the street.
Lacie and Krew dancing by one of the strobe-light fireworks.

Krew was having a blast. Every time a firework would go off, Krew would put his hands on his head and say, "I can't believe it! This is so cool!"

The morning of the 4th, five of us did the firecracker 5k.
Before the race!
Me, Megan, Blake, Chet, Brad

The after!
We all survived! You can even watch a video of me crossing the finish line here. You have to type my name in then go to video. I crossed the line at 23:43 on the video, if that helps point me out better. Let me tell ya, it's exciting!

After the run it was time for the infamous Idaho Falls parade. Krew had so much fun throwing Pop-Its at all the floats passing by.

He sure is handsome!!

Myla slept for the first half of the parade but those firetruck sirens didn't let her sleep for long!

Our little family (while Myla slept).

Then sleeping beauty was awaken! Love this picture of Myla and her Dad!

My kids are growing up way too fast!

After the parade we had an amazing lunch and ate until we were sick! Then just hung out for the rest of the day! Myla stayed entertained by playing with Dad's face.

And Krew and Lindley had a blast in the kiddie pool.

These two had so much fun together!

That night we went to the fireworks show. We went several hours early to get a spot with a good view. The kids had fun running around but got anxious waiting so long and not to mention tired from staying up way past their bedtime!
The show usually starts at 10pm. But 10 came and went. And we waited,

and waited,

and waited some more

Until we took all the cute pictures we could

Including of ourselves...
Until the show finally started at 11pm. We heard on the radio that someone was trying to swim in the river (close to where they shoot off the fireworks) and they never made it out. They were delaying the show to try and find his body but after an hour delay of the fireworks they ended up holding off search and rescue and resuming it after the show was finished. They found the man's body around 1am. Sad, sad stuff.

The rest of the weekend we all just hung out, which is the perfect way to spend a vacation.

Eric read to Krew,

Jorden whitened his teeth on the deck and had to text anyone he wanted to talk to,

Grandpa held these two cuties as much as he could,

I had some time with her too!

Myla looked like a big girl in this high chair,

Lindley and Krew played nonstop together,

and we spent a day at the zoo!

We also finally got a much needed family picture!

Krew was being silly and refused to look at the camera! But I still love these pictures, and Krew!

We had an awesome weekend that went way too fast!
